NECRCC’s Communications Task Force successfully launched a free workshop series devoted to teaching community members how to create their own personal, organizational or business web pages. The popular series also introduced the new Northeast Los Angeles community website, www.nelanet.org. 

The workshops' popularity served to galvanize the task force -- comprised of Occidental College faculty, staff and students, CINCO, and Hathaway Family Resource Center--to continue this initiative with monthly workshops. Representatives from local organizations, grass-roots interests, teen youth leadership councils, and others have taken advantage of this effort to increase communications tools in the Northeast, empower residents and partners through such skills-sharing activities, and provide a forum for collaboration amongst attendees and volunteers.
